This is a powerful image, especially with a big election
looming. The young black woman in this image is teaching the older woman how to
write, so that she may exercise her right to vote in the 1960 elections. The
banner behind the two women declares that Jim Crow is over; but how many people
in America are still disenfranchised in 2012?
